Good News for short notice traveller by train
Here is a good news for travellers by train on short notice. Indian Railways has allowed to transfer confirmed tickets to someone.
If the passenger is a govt servant, proceeding on duty, he can make written request 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the trains. The name on the ticket will be changed to another person name for whom the ticket transfer is sought.
A passenger can also transfer his confirmed ticket to another member of his family i.e. father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband and wife. He needs to request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the trains.
Another condition is that if the passenger are students in such case head of the institution can make a written request 48 hrs before the scheduled departure of the trains. Reservations made in the name of any student can be transferred to other students of the same institute.
If the passenger are members of the marriage party , any person deemed to be the head of the group can make written request 48 hrs before the scheduled departure of the trains. The reservation made in the name of any member of the marriage party can be transferred to any other passenger.
